Impact and ValuESS Social Value and Commissioning Event 14 May 2014

Delegates at SWF's event Social Value and Commissioning showed their cooperative spirit in contributing to a truly transnational event last week. The day provided an opportunity for cross-border learning and the devevlopment of new thinking in relation to implementing social value objectives. Rachel Rhodes from NAVCA provided expert input in relation to EU procurement regulations alongside local case studies reflecting on social value practice in commissioning in Cornwall and Rennes. The event was part of a two day visit from French Local Authority and Social Purpose delegates from the Brittany Region as part of the Impact and ValuESS project. The Mayor of Exeter formally welcomed the delegation to the South West.

This event will be followed up by a return visit to Brittany on 21st and 22nd September to further explore the themes of social value, impact and communications/partnerships. Please contact Charlotte Hanson at South West Forum if you are interested in being part of this delegation (travel and accommodation costs will be met by the project).
