Working in Partnership – Tackling Youth Unemployment, 15 October 2012

This free workshop, on 15th October 2012, in Devonport, was aimed at all sectors – FE Colleges, private training providers and voluntary and community sector providers.

This solutions-focused workshop was an opportunity for skills and learning providers across the South West to come together to look at creative solutions about how we can work together to tackle youth unemployment.

We:

  • Heard from John Davey of Careers Service West about careers information, advice and guidance - recent developments and implications.
  • Learnt from Andrew Green and Louisa Jenkins of Cornwall Learning Partnership about their work and the challenges of integrating services in tackling youth unemployment
  • Found out from Fiona Horrell, Head of Partnerships, City College Plymouth about how they have been working in partnership.
  • Explored and identified some of the issues and opportunities for working in partnership with others – through an open space forum faciliatated by Craig Marshall of Devon and Cornwall Training Provider Network.

Presentations from the speakers can be viewed below and a report will be available soon.
