Stronger Voice Project
Visit the Stronger Voice microsite for four short films introducing the key learning points from the Big Lottery funded ‘Stronger Voice’ project. Full transcripts included. South West Forum's Stronger Voice Project was a four-year Big Lottery funded project (2009-13) designed to strengthen the influence of voluntary and community organisations and to help ensure that marginalised groups get their voices heard at local and regional levels. It aimed to do this by promoting best practice in engagement and sharing learning.
The microsite we have created showcases the work of the project over those four years through four short films and a detailed report highlighting the activities that have worked well and those that have not. It looks at the current challenges to voice and influence - particularly for ‘seldom-heard groups’ and includes links to further information.
It will be of interest to:
- Local Authorities and Health Services who want to know how they can engage the voluntary and community sector and service users to best effect.
- Infrastructure organisations wishing to learn more about best practice and how to engage with their members.
- Community groups seeking inspiration and useful ideas to help them make greater use of engagement opportunities.
- Funders looking at how to support engagement work in the future.
